While responding to a recent article by Jennifer Glass I realized the need to write down the following which I think is as crucial as anything else to a successful business life. We often take lightly of what we do in the last few minutes of our work day which in turns affects our personal life after the fact. Following theses five easy steps may help making it a better. Here is the five minutes end-of-day routine.
Update your to-do lists.
Successful professionals always keep an eye on their ever-changing to-do lists
Review what you’ve achieved.
In addition to focusing on what you still need to do, it's important to look back on what you've done giving yourself a sense of accomplishment.
Determine your primary goals for the next day.
You may have a few “things to do tomorrow” in the top of your mind, but commit them to writing so that you have a core foundation to work from the next morning.
Say thank you to someone.
Creating a habit around thanking someone at the end of your workday is an incredibly effective way to boost not only your own happiness level but it also allows yourself and others to leave on a high note.
And leave.
Understand the importance of work-life balance; try to leave the office at a decent hour.
